Due to the Dominion Biosyn expansion, the size of Jurassic World Evolution 2 will grow. Later in the week, this DLC will launch alongside the Jurassic World Dominion expansion. The new campaigna will include Chaos Theory scenarios and other experience-enhancing elements.
TheGamer had the opportunity to take part in the initial campaign mission. This required the construction of a Biosyn Genetics facility in a picturesque valley. Before housing a variety of dinosaurs, basic infrastructure must be established. The Game Director, Rich Newbold, was available to answer any questions regarding the new content.
The connection between the movie and the game was confirmed by Newbold. “Jurassic World Evolution 2 Dominion Biosyn Expansion,” he said, “takes place in a breathtaking valley, where players will work with a familiar face: Lewis Dodgson, the current head of Biosyn Genetics.”
You are responsible for constructing a facility that can serve as both a dinosaur sanctuary and a research facility. This is the basis for the first mission of the campaign. The journey will be guided by a narrative story arc. Newbold confirms that you will collaborate with iconic characters including Dr. Alan Grant (voiced by Sam Neill), Dr. Ellie Sattler, Claire Dearing (voiced by Bryce Dallas Howard), and characters from Jurassic World Dominion such as Lewis Dodgson (voiced by Campbell Scott) and Ramsay Cole (“Mamoudou Athie”) Additionally, players will interact with some of the original Jurassic World Evolution characters.
You will notice the new features if you have been playing for some time. The Hyper Loop is the initial element encountered. It is a network of underground tunnels that employees can use for safe movement. It is so obvious that you will be amazed that no one has ever thought of it before. Simply connecting them underground is sufficient. This permits personnel to travel without fear of sudden dinosaur attacks. Even though I believed I had made a mistake and was unable to connect two locations, the system felt intuitive and simple to use. Even though everything connected properly in the scenario we simulated, it is not as straightforward or secure. Newbold cautioned that certain buildings are incompatible with this feature, and if one of your dinosaurs escapes, guests and staff will still be at risk.
You can also confine your dinosaurs with invisible gates and fences, making them more visible in their natural environment. Unfortunately, Newbold informs us that these invisible fences and gates are inspired by Jurassic World Dominion and will not be available in the Biosyn campaign or sandbox modes.
These transparent fences can also function as vantage points for the Hyper Loop. When attempting to observe dangerous creatures, the central observation platform is a common design element. It took them some time to develop fundamental travel safety measures such as tunnels. The dinosaurs will be unable to scale them. I certainly hope so. I am attempting to forget Raptors. I still have scars from the previous incident.
For the time being, you should not consider small dinosaurs following you through tunnels. You must exercise caution when constructing. It can be difficult to differentiate invisible gates from invisible fences. To provide your staff with complete access, you will need an enclosed fence. If severe storms or other emergency situations occur, you will still be required to respond.
Although the core facilities’ designs vary, they all serve the same function. MPV and Ranger teams still require a road network. Recent updates to the Ranger Post system now permit MPV teams to inspect enclosures. This greatly simplifies the management of disease outbreaks and basic dinosaur needs. You can set up an automated system and then focus on expansion, new enclosures, and achieving your objectives. You must be prepared to assist in the inevitable event of an emergency. Welcome to Jurassic World.
Amber Mining was the final new feature I observed. In this variant of fossil expeditions, scientists are dispatched to multi-level Amber Mines to obtain dinosaur DNA from the best source. This DNA can be used to create new dinosaurs such as the Pyroraptor and Therizinosaurus, as well as movie-inspired variations of existing dinosaurs. These new species will improve gameplay beyond the scope of the expansion. All of the exciting prehistoric species, including feathered dinosaurs, that have been added with the Dominion Biosyn Expansion will be accessible to players in both Sandbox Mode and Challenge Mode, according to Newbold.
We were unable to locate any additional content, but we did ask Newbold for a hint. He claims that the campaign is not only new, but also features a “what if” scenario inspired by the Chaos Theory mode of Jurassic World Dominion. Owen Grady will assist you in rescuing dinosaurs from his snow-covered Sierra Nevada ranch. You will also need to protect them from rustlers by installing floodlights, constructing watchtowers, and intercepting their vehicles.
Universal was intimately involved in the development of this pack, which the team adored. It’s been amazing! The Jurassic film franchise is a personal favorite of Newbold’s, and he has been enjoying the anticipation as the film’s marketing begins and new trailers, footage, or stills are released. We had access to the film script in advance and were provided with excellent references to ensure that all dinosaurs/species accurately portrayed the scenes of awe. It was a pleasure to work with Universal on all aspects of Jurassic World Dominion, including the environments, buildings, dinosaur game, and the inclusion of such an iconic cast.
It was a lot of fun, and I’m excited to discover what other surprises are in the remaining chapters. Check out Jurassic World Dominion prior to viewing the film if you wish to avoid spoilers. I was unable to pass up the opportunity to learn that Newbold’s favorite new species is the Dimetrodon. I adore the fin on its back and its ability to navigate its environment. He exclaimed, “It’s both adorable and terrifying!” I learned that it is technically not a dinosaur. My experience was both informative and entertaining.
